I wanted to love this series but alas I do not. The writing is subpar. There is just something about the way the author constructs a sentence that makes the reading clunky. I'm an avid reader and I found myself having to reread numerous sentences because I would come to the end and say, "what?" What did I just read? The author also mentions things in the writing as if she has introduced or mentioned the subject previously, which she did not! I found myself going back to see if I had missed something...nope it was just a random mention. Numerous missing words! I'm a completionist and it's killing me that I bought the first box set and I will not be reading beyond the 2nd book! A major plot fail for me is the H/h falling in love in mere hours, to the point that the heroine offers her life in exchange for the heros. Sorry but you don't get that deep in 150 pages and mere hours. This lazy writing and nothing but a ploy to get a bunch of money by the author with little effort. Boooooooo to the Ghosts!
